About the Author
Jonathan Miller first came to public attention as a performer in the very successful comedy review Beyond the Fringe. He became a doctor, but was soon seduced by television, presenting and directing arts programs, including a memorable Alice in Wonderland. He has directed plays for the BBC, the National Theatre, operas at the ENO, the Metropolitan in New York, and La Scala, Milan. He has also curated art exhibitions, as well as producing his own artworks in painting, sculpting, and photography. Underlying all his cultural work has been an interest in human behavior, how the brain works, and the philosophy of mind, and in media interviews and platform discussions he is still an important thinker in British cultural life.

More reflection needed

I've been a fan of Dr Miller since his wonderful book "The Body in Question." That fantastic fugue of art, science and history captivated me as no other written text. I wish this book had included some transcribed interviews and his thoughts on God and death. As a medical professional I relish Jonathan Miller's keen perception and masterful use of language to express his ideas on the human body and human condition. He's my favorite wordsmith and thinker. However, what this book lacked is eloquent reflection. His added text does not 'further reflect' as much as simply 'introduce' disparate writings. It's an incomplete work. A more accurate title might be 'Question the Negligible, 60 Years of Writing'
