She didn't have to pretend that she was already flailing, falling into the haze he cast over her senses with ease.She struggled again and their legs tangled, the tensile, hard muscles of his thighs rubbing against hers. The sound of his jagged exhale settled over her skin, while the whir of the rotor blades of the chopper above felt like a death knell.Her breath left Clio in a dizzying whoosh, every inch of her thrumming and pulsing. "Wait...I..."Words melted away from Clio's lips as the pad of his thumb moved over her chin, traced the curve of her lower lip. "It's just one kiss, bella. If you flinch every time I lay a finger on you, no one's going to buy it, Clio. Least of all Jackson."Her breath hitched like a balloon inside her, crushing her chest with a weight she couldn't bear...The last thing she wanted was a kiss and that too from the man who could so easily shred the small part of her that was still intact. But the reminder didn't work quite as well as it should have.
Because when he dipped his head and touched her lips, Clio felt her own walls tremble and quake, her skin burn with need and fire, felt the shudder that racked his wide, solid frame.
His lips were rough and soft, his jaw bristly against her skin, and his thick eyelashes not hiding his shocked expression for once.
"Cristo, bella," he whispered, touching his forehead to hers.

His nose rubbed against hers, a strange intimacy growing around them.
"Stefan," she begged, desperate to flee, but yearning to feel that rough mouth against hers again. Desperate to be touched again, desperate to feel his muscles tense. "Don't do this."
His fingers crawling over her nape and into her hair, his gaze was almost angry. "I can't stop, Clio. Not now."
He slanted his mouth over hers and dragged it across.
Fiery need burst across the seam of her lips and Clio shuddered all over.
With a curse that resounded in the air, Stefan tightened his grip until her scalp prickled. Buried his nose in the crook of her neck and breathed.
"You smell like sunshine and oranges, bella. Dios, you taste like..."
Clio didn't know what else he said. All the fight left her as he found her mouth again and devoured it with little bites and nips. Stroked and tasted her lips as if she was a feast to be savored.
Kissed her as if there was nothing else he wanted to do, as if nothing but her total surrender would do.
And Clio surrendered. To him and even more, to the desire inside her, both freeing and binding.
Their bodies fused to each other as they crossed a line they shouldn't have. A kiss they could never undo because it already engulfed them.

Clio Norwood and Stefan Bianco were friends in college in New York. They haven't seen each other in years but time has not stopped his feelings for her not love just need and a powerful sexual attraction. When Clio finds out that her fiancé has been cheating on her and using her contacts to swindle money Stefan sees his opportunity to get his nemesis. He offers Clio the opportunity to leave her fiancé and start over with his help. She takes him up on his offer ,and to get at her ex she says she is getting married in a week. Stefan feels he is being used as he was in the past closes up his feelings and writes a contract that he feel will protect him. He doesn't figure on how Clio will melt his ice cold heart. A warm story of a man hurt by the past and a women who will chip away at him till he can feel again. Its a very rocky road and lots of angst but as always Tara Pammi gives you a story with a HEA and a hero and heroine to love. Part of the society wedding series with 4 best friends . Don't miss this lovely book

I want to thank Tara Pammi for the signed edition or The Sicilian's Surprise Wife that I won in the Goodreads First Giveaway.

Stefan Bianco finds more than one surprise when he finds Clio Norwood coming back into his life. First is the surprise agreement to a false engagement and then the angry exchange that leads her to become The Sicilian's Surprise Wife with just a week to plan the wedding. Between contracts, friends and family reunions the surprises keep coming as both main characters find they are still attracted to each other after knowing one another a decade earlier at Columbia and seeing each other for a reunion after so much time and life has kept them apart. The emotional connection that develops with the deep romance makes The Sicilian's Surprise Wife an excellent romance.

The Sicilian's Surprise Wife by Tara Pammi is stunning. Stefan Bianco is the perfect alpha. He has the looks, the money and the persona but the only thing on his mind is revenge. Clio Norwood is strong, sexy and fierce. The sizzling chemistry shared between her and Stefan keeps the pages turning. With a touch of drama, a sprinkle of intrigue and a huge dollop of hands on chemistry, I'd say this is a fairly riveting read that will have you reading until the very last page.

This book is a good overview of UK/EU FinTech with a very limited coverage of the US FinTech. It is focused mostly on banking, payments, money transfer and insurance, but it pays very limited attention to the next huge sector to disrupt - wealth management.

It's being called a "revolution" because financial technology will greatly impact the global economy as well as our personal lives. Financial inclusion for example will enable to "unbanked" to become part of the global economy by using their mobile phones or smartphones. Karl Samson lives in Oregon, where he spends his time juggling his obsessions with traveling, gardening, outdoor sports, and wine. Each winter, to dry out his webbed feet, he flees the soggy Northwest to update Frommer's Arizona. However, he always looks forward to his return to the land of good espresso. Karl is also the author of Frommer's Washington, Frommer's Seattle, and Frommer's Portable Portland.

Disappointing

I can't even tell you how many Frommer's books I've bought over the years. They are definitely my go-to travel guides. Having said that, this one was very disappointing. The descriptions were full of meaningless adjectives. There was no way to differentiate which restaurant or which lodging I might like better. One was the most beautiful, one the prettiest, one the loveliest. The author seemed to like rustic a lot which is not necessarily a compliment in my book. The restaurants were all a foodie's dream. He also devoted way to much space to wineries. There must be something else to do in Oregon besides drink wine. Not very helpful and boring to read.

Avoidable mistakes mar otherwise adequate guide

We quit relying on this book shortly after we found a couple of significant mistakes. The time we wasted attempting to make up for the incomplete or incorrect descriptions was not worth the leads provided by the guide. It's unclear if these problems were the product of editing errors, or, more seemingly, issues with the writers documenting areas they hadn't actually visited. Whichever, we realized that bad information is a lot worse than having no information at all.
Here are two examples of misinformation contained in this guide. On page 308, the K-R Drive-In is listed as "north of Roseburg." What this description doesn't point out is that it's actually 20+ miles North of Roseburg, which also makes it North of several other smaller cities (which could have been named to more exactly pinpoint the drive in's location). In fact, it's halfway between Roseburg and Eugene, which is how we finally found it from a local's directions.
This painful lack of precision could easily have been avoided by providing the exit numbers (rather than just the exit name) that accompany every exit on Interstate 5 in Oregon. The exit numbers are keyed to the mileage on the highway and let you quickly determine how far an exit is, in either direction, from your current location. For highways without numbered exits, mileage markers would work just as well. The omission of such directional information reduces the value of the travel guide significantly.
A second example of poor directions can be found on page 271. The guide states, "also in the same area, past the Toketee Lake Campground, you'll find the Umpqua Hot Springs down a short trail." This is inadequate and wrong on several counts. First, there's no description of the 2-mile drive off of Highway 138 that is necessary to get to the campground. Second, there's no notation of the additional 2-mile drive on a gravel road, once you pass the campground itself. Finally, and most unbelievably, the "short trail" is a reasonably strenuous, very steep, 1/4-mile hike along the edge of a hill. Handrails line the route for both support and to keep you from tumbling down the hillside.
Like many guides, this one is full of good leads, but as these two examples demonstrate, it occasions to follow through with incomplete or incorrect information. This can leave you on the road, attempting to piece together the details you need to actually find something. And given the hilly and mountanous terrain of Western Oregon, you can't count on any sort of cel phone connectivity to help you out.
With the other books and maps (including the AAA Oregon Tour Book) we brought along, and our nightly visits to various websites to piece together the next day's itinerary, we were able to circumvent some of the problems with Frommer's guide. In the end, however, we were unable to trust the directions in this book, making it significantly less useful than it should have been.

A well organized book which focuses on each distinct region within Oregon including the Willamette Valley which is now known as "The Bread & Wine" Basket of Oregon. Especially good is "The Best of Oregon" which provides the very best beaches, hikes, scenic drives, B&B's, and much more! It is totally updated and will serve as a great guide for our trip to Oregon this year.

About the Author

Mona Abaza is professor of sociology at the American University in Cairo and is currently a visiting professor of Islamology at Lund University in Sweden. She is the author of several books, including The Changing Consumer Cultures of Modern Egypt (AUC Press, 2006).

A glimpse into a unique private art collection.

This unique book gives readers a glimpse into the private art collection of Egyptian art connoisseur and gallery owner, Mrs. Sherwet Shafei. The book includes a large number of paintings and sculptures with a description of each piece. Also artists' biographies are included at the end of the book in a concise yet comprehensive manner. The introduction by author Mona Abaza is relatively long for art books, but I found it to be very interesting and informative as it addresses important changes in Egypt's modern art world and art acquisition trends reflective of cultural and economical changes in Egypt and the Middle East in general. The collection of art in this book is simply exquisite. My personal favorite is her collection of brilliant artist Kamal Khalifa, as I scarcely see his art presented in exhibits. Kamal Khalifa lived a short tragic life of a truly "starving artist", yet has such a unique style that makes one wonder of what would have been if he was still around. Egyptian modern art is one of the best kept secrets of Egypt. What makes it even more so is the rarity of art books introducing modern Egyptian artists to the world. This makes this book even more precious. I simply love it!
